Following his retirement in 2019, Ennio Morricone began working with his son, (film)composer and conductor Andrea Morricone and concert producers GEA Live on the format of a new arena spectacular around his body of work.
The time had come to treat fans around the World to something new. By mid 2020, the Maestro had curated the programme for a fully produced new show with clips from the greatest classic filmhits, intelligent lighting and with the handpicked favourite soloists to be featured on stage alongside symphony orchestras and choirs, under the baton of his son Andrea Morricone. On July 6th 2020, Ennio Morricone passed at age 91.
In 2022, Ennio Morricone - The Official Concert Celebration, will kick-off its first major tour, visiting numerous countries in Europe and Asia. Audiences will get to enjoy the scores from Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America and the Untouchables, among others. The programme will not only include the most beloved compositions and scenes from the movies, but also pay hommage to the Maestro, with never before seen footage of the legend at work.

“Ennio Morricone – The Official Concert Celebration” is the only official touring production, curated by the late Maestro Ennio Morricone himself and conducted by his son Andrea Morricone.
Maestro Ennio Morricone curated the programme before his passing in 2020. Since then, his family and concert producers GEA Live have continued to develop this show around his body of work, to treat his fans around the world to something special.
The conductor for the show will be Andrea Morricone, Ennio’s son. Over many years, Andrea Morricone has become well known for his work in both the conducting and composition fields.
We do not want to spoil the surprise element of the full show, but as an audience, you will get to enjoy the scores from Cinema Paradiso, The Mission, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America and the Untouchables, among others.
